Procurement Agent Job in Kenya - iNet Africa

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and purchase goods, materials, and services in a timely and cost-effective way to support operations and project needs.
  • Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, price, reliability, and ability to meet delivery timelines.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders, contracts, and procurement records in line with company policies.
  • Monitor stock levels and work with inventory teams to forecast and plan procurement needs accurately.
  • Maintain clear records of purchases, pricing, and supplier performance to support audits and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies and legal regulations, including proper approvals and documentation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure dependable supply chains.
  • Track orders and follow up on deliveries, resolving any supply delays or product issues quickly.
  • Coordinate with finance and other departments to align purchases with budgets and project requirements.
  • Look for cost-saving opportunities and suggest ways to improve procurement processes.
  • Assist in preparing tenders and supplier evaluation documents for large or strategic purchases.
  • Review and assess supplier performance regularly to ensure quality, reliability, and service standards.
  • Support audits and compliance checks by keeping procurement records organized and accessible.

Requirements


  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of proven experience in a procurement or purchasing role.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes, vendor management, and supply chain operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement systems (e.g., ERP, SAP, or similar).
  • Must hold a valid driving license for a motorbike or car​​
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of relevant sourcing and contract management principles.
  • Membership in a professional body (e.g., CIPS or KISM) is an added advantage.
  • Integrity, professionalism, and a strong sense of accountability.
