Job Purpose:
The
Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing,
managing, and maintaining our network infrastructure to ensure optimal
performance and security. The Senior Network Engineer will also play a key role
in mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with other IT teams to support
business operations.
Key
Deliverables:
- Design and deploy scalable, high-performance network
solutions.
- Implement and manage network infrastructure, including
routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems.
- Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and
reliability.
- Perform network maintenance and system upgrades, including
service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software networking issues.
- Ensure network security by implementing and maintaining
security measures.
- Conduct regular network vulnerability assessments and audits.
- Collaborate with the security team to develop and enforce
security policies and procedures.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented
networks and systems.
- Prepare and deliver reports on network performance, issues,
and resolutions.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior network
engineers.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to support and integrate
network requirements for various projects and initiatives.
- Assist in developing and implementing disaster recovery plans
and procedures.
Qualifications
Professional
Experience & Certifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering and
administration.
- Proven experience with network design, implementation, and
troubleshooting in large, complex environments.
- Extensive experience in designing, implementing, and managing
datacenter networks.
- Strong knowledge of data center technologies, including
switching, routing, load balancing, and storage networking.
- Experience with IP telephony (IPT) systems and collaboration
tools.
- Familiarity with VoIP technologies, unified communications,
and video conferencing solutions.
- Proven experience in network security practices and
technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems,
and VPNs.
- Strong understanding of network security protocols and best
practices.
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or higher (e.g.,
CCIE).
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or
Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) is a plus.
- Any relevant cloud networking certifications (e.g., Azure
Networking Engineer Associate) would be an advantage.
