Purpose of the Job

Involves management of college library services

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities are:

  • Undertaking routine library duties
  • Filing cards
  • Recording incoming publications and checking against invoices
  • Routine cataloguing and classifying
  • Issue library materials
  • Maintain general library records
  • Prepare library exhibits
  • Managing of Hospital and medical school library services
  • Indexing and abstracting

Knowledge and Skills Required:


The jobholder must possess;

  • Diploma in Library Services from a recognized institution
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience
  • Should have strong analytical and be result oriented
  • Must have high standards of integrity and ethical practice
  • Must have knowledge in use of MS office packages
