The WASH Hub Director will play a pivotal
role in leading and coordinating the activities of the Bomet County WASH Hub.
This position requires a dynamic individual with a strong background in Water,
Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) systems, coordination, MEL and project
management. The WASH Hub Director will be responsible for implementing the
strategies set out in the Bomet WASH Masterplan, driving institutional
strengthening, and fostering collaboration among stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning and Implementation:
Lead the development and implementation of County
wide WASh strategy, ensuring alignment with the overall goals and objectives.
Oversee the development and expansion of WASH
monitoring and evaluation across Bomet county, working closely with relevant
departments and stakeholders.
Stakeholder Engagement and Coordination:
Coordinate with government agencies, NGOs, and other
stakeholders to enhance collaboration and information-sharing.
Organize and lead High level strategic planning
meetings, fostering engagement with senior staff and key NGO stakeholders.
Capacity Building and Training:
Develop and implement targeted training activities
for WASH stakeholders, ensuring continuous County-wide improvement in WASH
delivery.
Facilitate trips to learn from best practices within
Kenya and globally, promoting knowledge exchange among WASH practitioners.
Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:
Document approaches, successes, and challenges of
WASH Hub activities.
Facilitate the production of original research to
share findings with partners in Kenya and worldwide, contributing to the global
knowledge base on effective WASH interventions.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation
processes, ensuring data collection aligns with long-term strategic WASH goals.
Conduct regular reviews and assessments to measure
progress and identify areas for improvement across the county
Qualifications
Required Qualifications & Experience
Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Water
Resources Management, Public Health, Environmental Science, statistics or
economics).
At least five years’ experience in designing and
managing WASH programmes and/or MEL activities
Knowledge of Kenyan WASH sector, WASH policies,
regulations, and best practices desired.

Strong track record of managing the collection,
management and interpretation of large data sets; including utilising data
collection tools such as mWater (or similar) at scale and analysing large data
sets using Excel (or similar) to produce key findings.

Strong track record of networking and influencing
senior stakeholders.
Strong track record of building a community of
practice
