Senior Internal Auditor: DPP 7
Requirements For The Appointment
For appointment to this position, a candidate must
have:
- Served for three (3) years at the level of Internal Auditor I
DPP 8 OR in a comparable and relevant position in the Public or Private
Sector for a minimum period of three (3) years;
- Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines:
Business Administration (BA)-Accounting/Finance Option or Bachelor of
Science (BsC)-Auditing and Consultancy/Finance option from a recognized
Institution or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
- Membership to a relevant professional body;
- Be a registered member of the Institute of Internal Auditors
(IIA) or Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) or
certified Information Systems Auditors (CISA) and in good standing;
- Certified Public Accountant – CPA part II or equivalent
qualifications;
- Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and
results; and
- Meet the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution
of Kenya zolo; Integrity, Honesty and Accountability.
Duties and Responsibilities
The specific duties and responsibilities at this
level will include:
- Providing support in the development, review, and
implementation of audit and risk strategy, policies, Audit Framework and
procedures;
- Providing support in the development Implementation and review
of a risk-based audit plan;
- Implementing the Internal Audit Charter for ODPP;
- Monitoring and assessment of the effectiveness of internal
controls and level of compliance to confirm the effectiveness and adequacy
of risk management and internal control systems;
- Maintaining of database of audit and risk management
activities and assessing the
utilization of software and data analytical tools; - Monitoring the delivery of audit services in line with audit
standards;
- Preparing, submitting and reviewing audit findings and
assessing the implementation of the recommendations in ODPP;
- Analysing the books of accounts and examining the accuracy and
correctness for preparation of annual auditors’ reports for all audited
accounts and provide
appropriate advice; - Compiling and reviewing audit working papers;
- Vouching transactions in audit investigation in ODPP;
- Verifying board of survey reports at the closure of the
financial year;
- Verifying the financial statements prepared by the accounting
division and
budgetary systems; - Providing input in the Development of divisional workplans,
programmes and
budgets; - Undertaking staff appraisal within the Division in liaison
with Human Resource
Management Division; and - Coaching, mentoring, training and development of staff in the
division.
