Key Responsibilities:
Conducting fieldwork for data collection, including
surveys and sample collection.
Conducting laboratory experiments to optimize ONT
protocols for pathogen de-tection.
Utilizing ONT sequencing and bioinformatics tools to
analyze genomic data and identify disease pathogens and antimicrobial
resistance genes.
Collaborating closely with healthcare professionals,
government officials, and community stakeholders to ensure the effective
implementation of research find-ings.
Participating in training sessions and workshops
aimed at building research transla-tion skills and promoting evidence-based
policymaking.
Vacancy Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry/Microbiology /
Molecular Biology/ Biotech-nology/ Genomics or any related biological science
course from a recognized insti-tution and should have registered for M.Sc. in
the above fields.
Be familiar with conducting extensive literature
reviews
Conversant with basic microbial culture techniques
and epidemiology
Be familiar with whole genome sequence technologies
and applications
