Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Director, Statistical Coordination
and Methods, the jobholder will be responsible for planning and implementing
activities in the Statistical Coordination and Methods Directorate.
Key responsibilities
Designing a guide/template for the development of
Analysis and Tabulation
Plans of censuses and surveys;
Designing and developing data capture systems;
Designing, developing and reviewing data collection
instruments for various statistics;
Analysing data and generating tables for various
analytical reports;
Developing and maintaining databases for various
censuses and surveys;
Archiving data from various censuses and surveys;
Participating in the development of data cleaning and
edit specification guide;
Formatting the Economic Survey, Statistical abstract
and other statistical publications;
Appraising staff in the Data Processing Section;
Developing and implementing budget, work plans and
procurement plans for the section;
Implementing contract management activities within
the section;
Identifying and reporting on staff training needs in
the data processing section;
Implementing and updating the enterprise risk
management register.
Undertaking any other duties lawfully assigned by the
supervisor.
Requirements for appointment
Must have served in the grade of Assistant Manager,
Data Processing or equivalent position for a minimum period of three (3) years.
Bachelor Degree in any of the following disciplines;
Statistics and Information Technology /Computer Science or any other related
qualification from a recognized institution;
Must have a Master Degree in any of the following
disciplines:- Statistics and Information Technology /Computer Science or any
other related qualifications from a recognized institution;
Must have a Certificate in Strategic Leadership
Development Program (SLDP) lasting not less than six (6) weeks or related
qualification from a recognized institution;
Must have a Certificate in data processing packages
such as CSPro, SPSS, STATA, SAS, R;
Must have analytical, financial and Human Resource
Management skills;
Must be able to work in a collaborative team
environment;
