Job Purpose
The job holder is responsible for overseeing airport
and regional operations by providing leadership and management to achieve
business growth, seamless customer experience, safety & security of
passengers and airport users in line with national legislations and
International civil aviation Standards & Recommended Practices.
Key Duties and Responsibilities will entail:
Coordinating airport operations in collaboration with
airport stakeholders, ministries, departments and agencies to enhance customer
experience;
Coordinating emergency and crisis response at the
Airport and region;
Driving the implementation of the Airport Master Plan
in consultation with airport stakeholders;
Overseeing development and implementation of Airport
Security plan;
Driving the implementation of safety management
system at the airport;
Responsible for the implementation of the Environment
plan at the Airport;
Authorizing and controlling Airport financial expenditure;
Coordinating internal and external system and
regulatory audit activities for compliance and continual improvement;
Overseeing seamless passenger and airport user’s
facilitation to enhance Customer experience at the airport;
Guiding on resolution of customer complaints received
in line with the authority’s service charter and the complaints handling
procedure;
Collaboration with the surrounding community on
matters relating to the airport operations;
Overseeing compliance of rescue & firefighting
capacity at the airport and the region commensurate to the aerodromes level of
protection;
Overseeing safe aircraft operations at the airport;
Overseeing compliance with contractual SLAs and
service delivery standards of third-party service providers; and
Managing media relations in the region.
Person Specification
Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Accounting,
Economics, Finance, Business Management, Engineering, Law or any relevant field
Master’s degree in Business Administration or a
relevant field from a recognized institution desirable
Certification in any ICAO regulatory training
Management course lasting not less than four (4)
weeks from a recognized institution.
A minimum period of ten (10) years relevant work
experience, four (4) of which must be in a management position.
Working knowledge and/or understanding of airport
operations and management and operations of State Corporations; and
Proficiency in IT with practical working experience
gained in a highly automated ERP environment such is SAP is essential.
Skills and Competencies
Strategy execution, analytical, people management,
coaching, problem solving & decision-making, prudence financial management,
team work, good communication, interpersonal, risk management and leadership
skills.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to have a
valid;
Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue
Authority (KRA);
Police Clearance Certificate from the Directorate of
Criminal Investigations;
Self-Declaration Form stamped by the Ethics &
Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC);
Certificate of Clearance from Higher Education Loans
Board (HELB); and
Clearance Certificate from a recognized Credit
Reference Bureau (CRB).
