Job Description:
Reporting to the School Head, he/she will assist the
Principal in providing professional leadership, supervisory and administration
support. He/she should be highly competent, result oriented, experienced,
dynamic and motivated educational leader with proven track record.
Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities will include but will
not be limited to assisting the School Head in:
Takes charge of the school in the absence of the
Principal
Prepares weekly duty roster for the staff and ensures
that the duties are carried out by staff. Weekly reports of the duty carried
out within the week must be written by the coordinator of the week and
submitted to the Principal
Supervise interpretation and implementation of the curriculum by ensuring teachers prepare schemes of work, lesson plans and other professional documents
To prepare and implement the curriculum for students,
with goals of helping students to develop confidence and proficiency in all
subjects, a love of learning, as well as preparation for success in the Pearson
Edexcel International exams.
Ensure proper discipline is maintained in the
institution by the teachers, non-teaching staff and learners to create a
conducive learning environment
Ensure internal examination and assessments are
carried out
Coordinate and provide guidance and counseling
services to teachers, nonteaching staff and learners so as to instill norms and
values for harmonious coexistence
Organize remedial actions to support learners with
performance gaps
Induct and guide new teachers and teacher trainees on
their duties, the rules and culture of the institution;
Ensuring the vision for the school is clearly
articulated, shared, understood and acted upon effectively by all.
Building a strong and cohesive culture that is
supported by effective systems and structures.
Setting targets and goals for school staff through a
participative process.
Providing regular feedback to colleagues in a way
that recognizes good practice and supports their progress against professional
and performance management objectives.
Conducting annual reviews based on standards of
leadership, teaching and learning in specific areas of responsibility.
Monitoring coverage of the syllabus, quality of
teaching and effectiveness of learning outcomes.
Ensuring teachers and support staff have all
necessary working resources required in undertaking their responsibilities.
Providing leadership in guiding the various
co-curricular activities and school based events.
Working closely with senior school management to
achieve high levels of team spirit and synergy.
Handling behavior rectification matters to develop
unique, courteous, respectful individuals.
Building effective relationships with parents,
education partners and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
Holder of either:
Bachelor’s Degree in Education (Primary school
option)
P1 Certificate plus Bachelors’ Degree in Education
(High school)
Bachelor’s degree in Education (High school option
but with experience in a primary school setup)
The ideal candidate must have:
Proven track record in educational leadership
including school administration, classroom
Instruction, lesson plans, learners’ assessment and
staff development.
Minimum experience as a Head of department, senior
teacher or deputy Principal for at least 3 years in a reputable institution.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills that
enables open communication with parents, teachers and learners.
A self-motivated, energetic person who enjoys working
in a busy and dynamic working environment.
Sensitivity toward cultural diversities.
Demonstrates ability to think and act critically,
creatively and independently.
Experience of delivering Cambridge or Pearson
Edexcel A Levels
Registered with Teacher Service Commission (TSC).
