At Hyatt Place Nairobi Westlands & Hyatt House
Nairobi Westlands, we are looking for a Chief Engineer who
will be responsible for ensuring the brand standards and integrity of design is
maintained. He/she supervises building services, fire life and safety,
security, and IT systems while overseeing implementation and adherence of the
brand policies and procedures, best practices, and brand standards on property.
He/she supports the projects to include property renovations, ensuring
completion of site characteristic surveys and playing a key role in kick-off
meeting status updates. Incumbent will ensure Hyatt sustainability guidelines
are implemented and adhered to as required. Successful candidate will be tasked
to ensure effective implementation of all POMEC Policies & Procedures and
implement an effective and efficient POMEC management system, administration,
and transfer of skills in all related areas as well as interpreting financial
management and controls related to POMEC for the property.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
To implement local POMEC procedures to ensure compliance
with the local government regulations, after approval from the area / corporate
offices.
To assume full responsibility for the cost-effective
operation of the POMEC Department.
To prepare the annual and revised POMEC budget in
close cooperation with the Financial Controller and management, commensurate
with operational requirement of the property.
To keep accurate records and monitor closely all
POMEC budget expenditures and to ensure that the budget is adhered to, and
costs strictly controlled.
To allocate and countersign all invoices chargeable
to the POMEC budget before being processed and charged.
To establish an efficient system for the control and
verification of all fuel deliveries to the premises.
To maintain complete and supported POMEC records of
the property as per Hyatt International and local Policies & Procedures.
To prepare and to interpret the POMEC reports on the
Property.
To submit monthly reporting on a timely basis to all
stakeholders.
To scrutinize the monthly POMEC reports, to
investigate unusual variations and to prepare comments to be attached to the
report.
To implement all necessary controls to safeguard the
property assets as guided and to maintain records for the fixed assets,
operating equipment, supplies, and inventories.
To keep and to safeguard all Service maintenance
agreements related to POMEC operations ensuring they are up to date in liaison
with all the concerned.
To ensure that each section of the department is
managed efficiently, maximizing utilization of Technology.
To support staff needs in other Divisions based on
the Property priorities and anticipated business levels to include Outsourced
services and contractors.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering field
Relevant certification depending on field of
specialization
Active Membership to EBK an added advantage
5+ years of experience in a similar environment with
proven track record
Strong analytical, interpersonal and problem-solving
skills
Excellent Microsoft Office application and relevant
BMS experience is required
Leadership skills to guide and mentor other team
members
Ability to deal efficiently with complaints
exhibiting a solid customer service approach
The ability to remain positive and focused in a
fast-paced environment
