Roles
and responsibilities
The
Monitoring and Evaluation Associate will hold a bachelor’s degree in public
health, mathematics, statistics, or a related field and a relevant master’s
degree, with at least 6 years of relevant experience in monitoring and
evaluation roles and in working in international settings. The ideal candidate
will have proficiency in quantitative and qualitative data analysis using
relevant software with strong knowledge of monitoring and evaluation
methodologies and tools. The ideal candidate will have excellent written and
verbal communication skills, with fluency in English. Knowledge of French or
Portuguese is an added advantage. The candidate will possess good interpersonal
skills, strong organisational, time-management, and prioritisation skills, and
proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team,
will be comfortable showing flexibility and adaptability to handle diverse
tasks and changing priorities, show attention to detail, and have the ability
to handle sensitive information with confidentiality. Familiarity with the
Kenyan development context and donor reporting requirements is an added
advantage.
Some
specific responsibilities will include:
- Provide
monitoring and evaluation technical assistance and institutional capacity
strengthening on monitoring and evaluation to national and sub-national
institutions, in line with organisational goals and client requirements.
- Develop
and implement comprehensive monitoring and evaluation frameworks for
projects, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and client
requirements.
- Work
closely with project teams, partners, and stakeholders to integrate
monitoring and evaluation processes seamlessly into programme activities.
- Contribute
to the development and implementation of innovative monitoring and
evaluation methodologies.
- Design
data collection methodologies and tools, coordinate data collection, and
conduct routine data quality assessments to ensure the integrity and
reliability of collected data.
- Conduct
quantitative and qualitative data analysis, interpreting results to inform
decision-making.
- Prepare
and submit timely and accurate reports to clients, stakeholders, and
internal teams.
- Collaborate
with project managers and other associates to ensure consistency and
accuracy in reporting.
- Provide
training and support to project staff and partners on monitoring and
evaluation best practices.
- Facilitate
knowledge-sharing sessions to disseminate lessons learned and best
practices; and
- Provide
project management support or leadership across projects, as needed.
