Responsible for coordinating supplies, monitoring inventory, processing orders, maintaining stock records, and ensuring timely availability of materials for operations. Requires a relevant qualification in procurement, supply chain management, logistics or a related field. The position is based in Nairobi and requires on-site work.
Purpose
Organize and control the aircraft spares in the warehouse to ensure spares are securely warehoused, handled and issued in accordance with airworthiness requirements and Kenya Airways Plc Quality standards to support schedule requirements of Kenya Airways and other operators.
Key
Responsibilities
Aircraft
Spares & Tools Management:
- Ensure
proper warehousing and handling of aircraft spares and tools in compliance
with airworthiness and company quality standards.
- Issue
items as needed to support schedule requirements for Kenya Airways and
other operators.
Access
Regulation & Security:
- Maintain
secure access to the stockroom in alignment with Maintenance Organization
Exposition procedures to safeguard the integrity and security of the
stored spares.
Inventory
Management:
- Oversee
inventory levels within the warehouse and utilize software systems (like
OASES) to track stock, maintain accurate records, and conduct regular
audits.
- Ensure
stock accuracy of at least 98%.
Receiving
& Inspection:
- Oversee
the receipt of incoming shipments, checking for quantities, defects, and
ensuring that all items meet quality standards and match purchase orders.
Storage
& Organization:
- Manage the efficient organization of
aircraft materials in the warehouse, ensuring easy access and effective
use of space through appropriate shelving and labelling systems.
Distribution
& Allocation:
- Coordinate
the allocation and distribution of materials to various users or
warehouses based on demand and production schedules, ensuring proper
spares and tools are available for Kenya Airways and contracted airlines.
Safety
& Compliance:
- Ensure
the warehouse complies with safety regulations, including adherence to OEM
guidelines (e.g., MSDS), proper handling of materials, and overall
compliance with safety protocols.
Documentation
& Reporting:
- Maintain records of inventory
transactions, orders, and shipments, while generating reports to track
trends and support decision-making processes.
Continuous
Improvement:
- Actively
identify and implement opportunities to enhance warehouse operations,
optimize inventory practices, reduce costs, and improve overall efficiency
Skills
- Knowledge of KCAA/EASA and Company
requirements preferred.
- Strong verbal and written
communication skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and work
well under pressure
- Ability to work on a shift schedule.
Qualifications
- Degree in Supply Chain
management/Logistics/Business management/Commerce OR Diploma Supply Chain
Management/ Logistics/Business Management and 5 years’ experience in
aviation may be considered.
- An in-depth knowledge of Inventory
and Supply chain management.
- Training in handling of Dangerous
Goods will be an added advantage.
- Forklift certification and/or
ability to successfully complete forklift training and operate machinery
safely will be an added advantage.
- General knowledge of logistics,
warehousing procedures and statutory regulations.
- Computer literacy, MRP proficiency.
- Minimum 2-year experience in a
similar role within a Warehouse environment.
