Agricultural Trainee supporting agricultural operations and field activities, requiring a Diploma or Degree in Agriculture or a related field, in an agricultural environment, on-site role.
Main tasks /Responsibilities:
- Learning
all aspects of black tea manufacture from field to factory
- Ensuring
production of high-quality teas that meet the relevant international
requirements/standards.
- Ensuring
production of high-quality green leaf to meet the company leaf standards
- Planning
for labour related activities with proper feedback to the Divisional
Manager and or
Factory Manager. - Managing
labour staff attendance.
- Monitoring
and supervising labour related activities.
- Supervision
of factory and field machinery by ensuring correct and efficient use,
maintenance and prompt reporting of required repair work.
- Ensure
adherence to safe work practices and procedures / compliance to all
relevant safety procedures and legislation
- Efficient
supervision of labour and subordinate staff ensuring compliance to the
relevant Company policies and procedures.
- Maintaining
sound labor relations through regular communication at all levels.
- Supervision
of Village Improvement Schemes and Village Environmental Committee (VEC)
meeting schedules.
Qualifications and person
specifications
- Must
have achieved a mean grade of B+ in KCSE
- Must
hold a Second-Class Upper Division Degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness or
Food Processing
- Must
have basic experience in field husbandry practices.
- Basic
awareness of personnel management.
- Have
excellent interpersonal skills and supervisory skills.
- Be a
positive and self-motivated individual.
- Be a
person of high integrity.
