Printing Intern role at Woodnork Green, supporting print production and large-format printing operations. Requires a Degree/Diploma in Graphic Design, Printing Technology, or related field with basic practical knowledge of large-format printing machines and Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop. Internship, full-time role.
Position Summary
- The Printing Intern will support the Printing Department in
executing high-quality print jobs, operating large-format printing
machines, preparing basic artwork, and ensuring all printing procedures,
quality checks and material-control protocols are followed.
- The role is suitable for a hands-on individual who is keen to build
practical experience in largeformat printing and print production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate large-format printing machines under the guidance of the
Printing team and in accordance with approved operating procedures.
- Prepare machines for printing, including basic setup, loading
materials and confirming job specifications before production.
- Perform basic graphic design and artwork adjustments, including
resizing, layout changes and preparation of print-ready files.
- Verify artwork, dimensions, resolution, colour requirements,
materials and quantities before printing.
- Monitor print jobs during production and immediately flag print
defects, colour issues, machine errors or inconsistencies.
- Follow all printing protocols, job cards, approval procedures and
material issuance/usage controls.
- Support quality checks on printed output before finishing, dispatch
or handover to the Production/Projects teams.
- Maintain proper records of printing jobs, materials used, wastage,
reprints and machine-related issues.
- Keep printing machines and the work area clean, organized and safe,
and report maintenance requirements promptly.
- Work closely with Graphic Designers, Projects and Production teams
to ensure accurate and timely execution of print jobs. Education /
Training
- Degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Printing Technology, Digital
Printing, or a related field.
- Recent graduates or candidates seeking structured practical
experience in print production are encouraged to apply.
Skills & Requirements
- Basic practical knowledge of operating large-format printing
machines.
- Basic graphic design skills and ability to prepare or adjust
print-ready artwork.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; knowledge of
CorelDRAW or similar design software is an added advantage.
- Basic understanding of print materials, substrates, colour,
measurements and finishing processes.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow printing
procedures and qualitycontrol protocols.
- Ability to learn quickly, work under supervision and take
responsibility for assigned tasks
