Fundraising & Partnerships Assistant Job in Nairobi, Kenya – AMIU

Summary: Fundraising and Partnerships Assistant at AMIU. Responsible for supporting fundraising activities, developing donor and partner relationships, coordinating proposals, and maintaining partnership records. Key Responsibilities

  • Support fundraising efforts by researching and identifying potential donors, partners, and funding opportunities.
  •  Maintain an updated database of donor and partner prospects, including records of engagement, proposals, and outcomes.
  • Track and report on the progress of funding opportunities and partnership initiatives, ensuring timely follow-up.

  • Collect, document, and compile impact stories, case studies, and testimonies to support donor reports and fundraising campaigns.
  •  Provide logistical and coordination support for alumni engagement initiatives and events.
  •  Draft correspondence, acknowledgements, and administrative documents related to fundraising and partnerships.
  •  Support the preparation of presentations, proposals, and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  •  Liaise with the Marketing and Communications Officer and the Content Development Assistant to ensure alignment of fundraising messaging and storytelling.
  •  Manage administrative functions of the Advancement Division, including scheduling meetings, filing records, processing requisitions, and handling general office communication.
  •  Perform any other duties assigned in support of the Advancement Division’s objectives. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Health Sciences, Communications, or a related field.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • At least two (2) years’ experience in marketing, fundraising, administration, public relations, or digital communications in a university, NGO, or corporate setting.
  • Good administration and coordination skills with knowledge of various tools used in the higher education fundraising space.
  • Proven ability to work in multicultural environments.
  • Strong interpersonal and project management skills; ability to handle multiple deadlines and cross functional collaboration.
