Summary: Fundraising and Partnerships Assistant at AMIU. Responsible for supporting fundraising activities, developing donor and partner relationships, coordinating proposals, and maintaining partnership records. Requires a relevant qualification in business, development studies, communications, or a related field, with strong communication skills. The role is based in Nairobi with duties performed on-site.
Key Responsibilities
- Support fundraising efforts by researching and identifying potential
donors, partners, and funding opportunities.
- Maintain an updated database of donor and partner prospects,
including records of engagement, proposals, and outcomes.
- Track and report on the progress of funding opportunities and
partnership initiatives, ensuring timely follow-up.
- Collect, document, and compile impact stories, case studies, and
testimonies to support donor reports and fundraising campaigns.
- Provide logistical and coordination support for alumni
engagement initiatives and events.
- Draft correspondence, acknowledgements, and administrative
documents related to fundraising and partnerships.
- Support the preparation of presentations, proposals, and
reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Liaise with the Marketing and Communications Officer and the
Content Development Assistant to ensure alignment of fundraising messaging
and storytelling.
- Manage administrative functions of the Advancement Division,
including scheduling meetings, filing records, processing requisitions,
and handling general office communication.
- Perform any other duties assigned in support of the
Advancement Division’s objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Health Sciences, Communications, or
a related field.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- At least two (2) years’ experience in marketing, fundraising,
administration, public relations, or digital communications in a
university, NGO, or corporate setting.
- Good administration and coordination skills with knowledge of
various tools used in the higher education fundraising space.
- Proven ability to work in multicultural environments.
- Strong interpersonal and project management skills; ability to
handle multiple deadlines and cross functional collaboration.
