Freight Manager position at Aramex providing customer management teams with freight solutions to increase revenues and enhance operations, requiring a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or related field with 3-5 years experience in air freight forwarding and strong understanding of global trade lanes, in a logistics environment, on-site role.
Purpose of the Job
- The Freight Manager will provide customer management teams with best
solution that can increase the product revenues and profit at the same
time enhance freight product operations service, efficiency and reduce
direct and indirect cost. As an Freight manager at Aramex, you will be the
primary point of contact for clients regarding freight inquiries. the role
is pivotal in maintaining strong client relationships, while also
delivering tailored freight solutions to meet their specific needs.
You will play a crucial part in procuring competitive rates, managing shipments from start to finish, and supporting the sales team in securing new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Cultivate and nurture strong relationships with clients to foster
loyalty and retention.
- Assists CMTs in all Sales and/or shipments that would require a
subject matter expert.
- Analyze customers’ business models, routes volumes, etc. to create /
customize solutions using all possible modes of shipping “Air, Land and
Sea”.
- Going on joint sales visits with the CMT team when needed whether to
regain lost clients, close new deals, cross sell existing clients, grow
existing business, etc.
- Support CMTs to resolve customer cases in relation to claims,
discrepancies, KPIs performance and assist them to resolve any operational
problems.
- Provide comprehensive freight solutions to clients, addressing their
specific requirements and ensuring satisfaction.
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of freight shipments, ensuring timely
and efficient execution from booking to delivery.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to coordinate freight
logistics effectively.
- Negotiate competitive rates with carriers, agents, and offices to
secure the best and lowest pricing for clients.
- Exceed overall freight targets for assigned customers through
proactive management and strategic initiatives.
- Provide the Station Manager and the CMT with effective market data.
This may include information about the competition, upcoming projects,
product statistics and product profitability reports, etc.
- Conduct training for CMTs and other department new hires when needed
to improve the products awareness within country and ensure they CMT are
selling the product effectively.
- Identify employees with high potential and propose career
development plan.
- Coordinate with the concerned Regional/Global Product Managers on
all operational changes and updates needed.
- Initiate and Implement Freight SOPs across the station.
- Ensure accurate adoption of CargoWise and maintain integrity in
milestone status updates.
- Collaborate with the regional pricing desk for requests for
quotations (RFQs), projects, and tenders as required and
- Share the updated sales and pricing list with CMTs and ensure CMTs
are abiding with the list.
- Negotiate and reduce costs from suppliers (airlines, sea lines,
transportation companies)
- Agree with the direct manager on the annual product targets.
- Ensure product revenue growth is met.
- Take all necessary measures when possible, to reduce cost without
compromising quality and standards
Job Requirements –
Experience and Education
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business
Administration, International Business, or a related field is often
preferred.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in the air freight forwarding
industry, with a strong understanding of global trade lanes.
- Proven experience in customer service and managing key business
clients.
- Familiarity with CargoWise is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel,
and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written communication skills.
