Job Purpose
Responsible
for determining competitive pricing strategies to gain market share and achieve
revenue goals, analyze data from multiple sources, develop complex pricing
models, and collaborate with commercial team to develop sales strategies,
analyze competitor pricing, set competitive prices to gain market share and
achieve revenue goals, analyze customer data, prepare market share and revenue
forecast as well as compare the outcome of different pricing strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement pricing strategies aligned with revenue
targets, profitability goals, and market
- Analyze freight market trends, competitor pricing, and industry
dynamics to guide commercial decision-making and inform effective market
engagement
- Identify trade lanes, services, and product segments where the
company has strong competitive advantages, and analyze quote registers
based on shipment volumes, cargo weight, container specifications, and
origins to provide insights to the commercial team on areas of
- Support revenue growth by identifying profitable trade lanes,
customer segments, and service
- Maintain a comprehensive tracker for all tenders and quotations
submitted by the
- Conduct detailed win–loss analysis of quotations and monitor
conversion rates to identify factors behind successful and unsuccessful
bids and provide recommendations to improve
- Evaluate new enquiries and business opportunities and develop
competitive pricing proposals for tenders and major
- Utilize quote registers to review active, lost, and dormant customer
accounts, ensuring timely follow-up on dormant
- Identify trends affecting customer retention and analyze reasons for
lost or inactive
- Present customer portfolio insights and recovery opportunities to
the commercial team and recommend strategies to regain lost business and
strengthen long-term
- Ensure accuracy and consistency of pricing data, quotations, and
commercial rate
- Monitor expiring rate agreements, contracts, and service level
agreements and communicate renewal requirements to relevant
- Develop and maintain pricing tools, templates, and analytics
dashboards to improve pricing
- Supervise the pricing team to ensure accountability, efficiency, and
adherence to pricing
- Monitor quotation turnaround times to ensure timely responses to
customer
- Review complex or high-value quotations to ensure accuracy,
competitiveness, and compliance with company pricing
- Facilitate prompt resolution of pricing challenges by coordinating
with operations, carriers, and service
- Prepare periodic pricing
performance reports for
management covering margins,
tender outcomes, competitiveness, and market
- Provide strategic recommendations to improve profitability, pricing
performance, and commercial
- Support senior management with data-driven insights to guide pricing
and commercial
- Ensure the Transport Matrix is consistently updated, accurate, and
aligned with current market rates, operational requirements, and
commercial pricing strategies
- Receive, evaluate, and process enquiries from both internal and
external
- Liaise with service providers to obtain and clarify all
pricing-related enquiries.
- Source, compare, and negotiate competitive rates from various
service providers.
- Prepare and submit customer quotations within agreed timelines and
service level
- Follow up on all submitted quotations to improve conversion and
customer
- Maintain and update quotation templates to ensure consistency and
accuracy of
- Ensure proper record keeping by updating the quotation register,
including customer feedback, to support continuous service
Qualifications
- 5-8 years experience in a similar
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management/ mathematics/
Statistics/ Finance/ Economics, or in a related
- Proficiency in business intelligence (BI) software will be an added
- In-depth knowledge of statistical methods and data
- Knowledge in ERP systems
