Project Manager Job in Kenya - KEMRI

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and submission of project authorization documents to the relevant authorities, including the National Commission for Science, Technology and Innovation, the county commissioners, and the County directors of health and education.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute scheduled research field sampling activities
  • Perform day-to-day management of the project team and promptly address any team issues and concerns.
  • Provide day-to-day high-level support to the PI, assisting with the implementation of research program management processes and protocols in line with best practice.
  • Perform strategic project resources planning and financial analysis.
  • Conduct team meetings to discuss project status and issues.
  • Lead research team to complete allocated tasks within the stipulated time and budget.

  • Where appropriate, organize the recruitment of assigned project research staff to ensure timely use of resources.
  • Work with Partners, sponsors, and researchers to ensure the project portfolio, objectives, and goals are achieved.
  • Routinely monitor all activities, review risks, issues, and progress, taking actions as necessary to ensure minimum impact on research deadlines.
  • Deliver project events, such as research collaboration meetings, community engagement workshops, and seminars, and coordinate appropriate publicity

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any relevant field. Mandatory
  • A master’s Degree or a postgraduate diploma will be an added advantage. Added Advantage
  • Proficiency in computer application Mandatory
  • Experience managing project(s) of similar scope or scale Mandatory
