Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Finance or Accounting option),
Business Administration (Accounting option) from a recognized institution.
- Certified Public Accountant – CPA (K) or its equivalents from a
recognized institution.
- A member of Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya
(ICPAK) and in Good Standing.
- Experience is using Financial Software and Advanced MS Excel skills.
- Knowledge of financial reporting guidelines in the public sector.
- Proficiency in Computer Packages and relevant accounting packages.
- Valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
- Meet requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya
2010.
- Three (3) years working experience in the relevant field.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare Annual Financial Budget in consultation with the
departments.
- Ensure proper maintenance of records and books of accounts relating
to all revenue and expenditures.
- Reconcile daily, monthly and annual financial transactions.
- Prepare Bank reconciliation and Trial Balance.
- Certifying all expenditures in accordance with the approved vote
heads and budgetary allocations.
- Formulate the entity budget and execution in line with PFM Act 2012.
- Prepare Quarterly and Annual Reports and Financial Statements in
accordance with International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS)
(Accrual Basis) in compliance with the PFM Act 2012.
- Ensure compliance with Government Financial Regulations.
- Prepare and management of BOG staff payroll.
- Preparation and Timely submission of statutory deductions: PAYE,
NSSF, SHA, HELB among others.
- Undertake any other duties assigned.
