Role and Responsibilities:

  • Safely and efficiently transport IFC staff to various destinations ensuring punctuality and adherence to schedules.
  • Conduct regular vehicle inspections and maintenance checks, including monitoring fuel levels, oil, tire pressure, and overall vehicle condition, to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date vehicle logs, including trip records, fuel consumption, and maintenance activities, in alignment with IFC reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrate defensive driving techniques to minimize risks and ensure the safety of passengers, pedestrians, and other road users.
  • Provide logistical support during official events, meetings, and field visits, including route planning and coordination with relevant teams to optimize travel efficiency.
  • Act as a reliable point of contact for transportation-related inquiries, ensuring clear communication and professional interaction with staff and external stakeholders.

  • Stay informed about traffic patterns, road conditions, and local regulations to proactively plan routes and avoid delays.
  • Ensure the security of IFC vehicles and passengers by adhering to established protocols and reporting any incidents or concerns promptly.
  • In collaboration with the relevant department, support administrative tasks related to transportation, such as ensuring insurance is renewed on time, vehicles are serviced, KAPS parking and Expressway Toll accounts have sufficient funds etc
  • Uphold IFC values by demonstrating professionalism, respect, and cultural sensitivity in all interactions, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.

Selection Criteria

  • Preference will be given to local talent, that is, applicants that are authorized to work in the duty station for any employer. Internal applicants may apply per existing guidelines.
  • Minimum of a secondary school diploma or equivalent educational qualification.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and references.
  • At least five (5)years of professional driving experience, with defensive driving skills training considered an advantage.
  • Demonstrated fluency in English, both spoken and written, to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Nairobi and surrounding areas, including routes, traffic patterns, and local regulations.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment, demonstrating strong interpersonal and client-focused skills.
  • Proactive and adaptable personality, with the ability to take ownership of tasks and respond effectively to changing circumstances.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety, ensuring adherence to IFC standards and protocols.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and maintain professionalism under pressure.
  • Commitment to IFC’s values, including integrity, respect, and teamwork, with a focus on delivering high-quality service.
