Finance Intern Job in Kenya - Village HopeCore International

Job Summary

The Finance Intern will assist the Finance Department Team in all aspects of financial operations, including but not limited to; budgeting, financial management and reporting, and asset management.

The position must also ensure integrity, timely service delivery and value for money in line with HopeCore’s Financial requirements as per the set manuals and policies.

Key Responsibilities of the Post

  • Support filing processes of documents in the Finance office to enable a complete audit trail of computerized records and support documents for all overhead payments.
  • Support in processing vendor payments.
  • Support regular updating of organizational asset register.
  • Support to the administration team on the management of organizational inventory register, stock take and inter-departmental asset movement & re-allocation record updating.
  • Execute basic book keeping techniques e.g. analyze data as guided by the Supervisor.

  • Confirm and ensure that all the necessary support documents for transactions are provided before funds requested are processed.
  • Support in posting data in the system – i.e. transactions, preparation and posting of relevant journals, assets, liabilities, income & expenses into QuickBooks.
  • Participate in the meetings such as: All staff meeting, Finance department meetings, other Interdepartmental meetings.
  • Provide input during preparation of donor financial reports i.e. monthly & quarterly.
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by your supervisor and/Finance Coordinator.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting.
  • Having attained CPA Part 1 or 2 is an added advantage.
  • Extensive experience in working with computerized accounting system (QuickBooks).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High sense of initiative and personal motivation.
  • Ability to work extra hours and deliver results with minimal supervision.
