Role Purpose:
The Field
Monitoring / Data Officer will support
program quality and accountability by conducting field monitoring, validating
data, and generating accurate, timely reports. The role ensures data integrity,
supports evidence-based decision-making, and strengthens adoption tracking of
promoted agricultural technologies across FIPS-Africa program areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and conduct field monitoring visits to
farmers and VBAs to assess progress, technology adoption, and
implementation quality.
- Validate field reports, logbooks, and training
data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Collect, clean, analyze, and summarize data
using mobile data collection tools (ODK/Kobo).
- Produce clear monitoring reports and actionable
insights for Program Leads and MEL teams.
- Maintain accurate databases and provide regular
progress updates against targets.
- Support timely submission of high-quality data
summaries that meet donor reporting standards.
Minimum Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Monitoring &
Evaluation, Statistics, Data Management, Agriculture, or a related field.
- Experience in field-based data collection,
monitoring, or research.
- Proficiency in mobile data collection tools
(ODK/Kobo Collect).
- Strong data analysis, reporting, and
documentation skills.
- High attention to detail, integrity, and
commitment to data accuracy.
- Willingness to travel frequently to field
locations.
