About the role
The Systems
and Data Intern will help improve our organizational
systems so that we can better support participatory democracy advocates around
the world. The internship is ideal for people with strong organizational, data,
and technology skills who are eager to gain global experience, further develop
their skills, and contribute to global movements for democracy. You will be
supervised by the People and Operations Manager and will work closely with our
growing, international staff team.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities
will include a combination of the work below, customized to the intern’s skills
and organizational needs:
- Assess current organizational systems for
project management, hiring, contracting, time-tracking, and data
management; research and identify tools and practices for streamlining or
automating work; and help implement and document improvements.
- Collaborate with staff across teams to gather
system needs and pain points, and help translate operational requirements
into system and workflow improvements.
- Support re-granting data management and due
diligence processes for our programs
- Help maintain and improve tracking systems for
organizational KPI’s and other impact data.
- Help compile, organize, and analyze data from
our resources and support programs, and identify opportunities for
improving user experience.
- Participate in organization-wide meetings and
other activities. Contribute and review content, provide feedback on plans
and proposals, and have fun with our team!
- Requirements
Desired Experience and Skills
- At least one to two years of experience working
with non-governmental or nonprofit organizations in an operational or
administrative capacity, including through other internships, volunteer
work or academic projects.
- Experience with or interest in user-centered
design and analysis
- Proficiency working with Google Suite, Asana,
time-tracking tools, and AI tools.
- Strong data collection, organization, and
analysis skills.
- Interest in social justice and participatory
democracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a
team.
- Proficiency in English.
- Experience working remotely in a virtual setting
and across multiple timezones
