The Tala
Hospital is a modern Level 4 Hospital, full-service healthcare facility located
along Nairobi–Kangundo Road, about 600 m from Tala Market in Tala town. It
operates 24/7, offering both outpatient and inpatient care to residents of
Machakos and neighbouring regions. The hospital goal is providing quality,
affordable, community-focused healthcare.
Job Purpose:
The Business
Development Officer is responsible for driving the
hospital’s growth and sustainability through market research, strategic
partnerships, client acquisition, and revenue enhancement initiatives. The
officer will identify new business opportunities, strengthen existing relationships,
and promote hospital services to increase patient numbers and institutional
visibility.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Growth and Market Expansion
- Develop and implement business growth plans
aligned with the hospital’s strategic objectives.
- Conduct regular market research and competitor
analysis to identify new opportunities and service gaps.
- Propose new services, clinics, or packages that
meet market demand and improve hospital profitability.
- Support the hospital’s leadership in strategic
planning and business forecasting.
Corporate and Institutional Partnerships
- Establish and maintain strong working
relationships with corporate clients, insurance companies, NGOs, schools,
and government institutions.
- Negotiate and manage corporate medical contracts
and retainers.
- Coordinate health talks, wellness programs, and
medical outreaches with partner organizations.
- Ensure proper documentation and renewal of
corporate agreements.
Marketing and Brand Promotion
- Develop and implement hospital marketing and
communication strategies.
- Collaborate with the marketing and
communications team to create promotional materials, advertisements, and
digital campaigns.
- Organize community health outreach programs,
open days, and hospital exhibitions.
- Ensure consistent visibility of hospital
services through signage, social media, and digital presence.
Business Performance Monitoring
- Track and analyze patient flow, service
utilization, and revenue trends.
- Prepare periodic business development reports
for management review.
- Evaluate the performance of marketing
initiatives and recommend improvements.
- Monitor customer feedback and satisfaction to
improve patient experience.
Customer Relationship Management
- Maintain excellent relationships with patients,
partners, and referrers.
- Address corporate client and partner concerns
promptly and professionally.
- Support initiatives aimed at improving patient
retention and loyalty.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Growth in patient numbers and service
utilization.
- Increase in corporate accounts and partnerships.
- Improved brand visibility and public engagement.
- Revenue growth from business initiatives.
- High levels of client and patient satisfaction.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business
Administration-Marketing Option, Commerce-Marketing Option, Public
Relations, or related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in
business development, sales, or marketing—preferably in healthcare or
service industry.
- Proven record in generating new business and
managing key client relationships.
- Strong understanding of healthcare business
operations and trends.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strategic thinking and analytical ability.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and
presentation skills.
- Proficiency in digital marketing and Microsoft
Office tools.
- Strong networking and relationship management
skills.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and
deliver measurable results.
