Basic Job Summary:
The Job
holder will be responsible for assisting the Restaurant Supervisor in
delivering exceptional Food and Beverage Service experience to university
guests, students, and staff members in a manner that is prompt, courteous, and
efficient.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Serve food and beverages to guests as per duty
Rota, ensuring first class service to all customers.
- Ensure cleanliness and orderliness in the food
service area at all times to maintain high standards of food hygiene as
per the stipulated standards.
- Refill serving stations or dining areas with
food and supplies such as beverages, food, cutlery, napkins, and linens
when necessary.
- Provide customers with general information or
assistance on the menus upon request.
- Coordinate with the chefs and cashiers to ensure
smooth operation and guest satisfaction.
- Clean tables and counters after guests have
finished dining.
- Adhere to grooming and appearance standards
consistently.
- Arrange and set up tables for special request
functions, ensuring that all events are set by the guidance of functions
checklist.
- Handle special requests and dietary
requirements, communicating them effectively to the kitchen staff where
applicable.
- Work closely with kitchen staff, baristas, and
other waiters to ensure smooth operation and guest satisfaction.
- The post-holder will carry out any other duties
as are within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the job as requested by
the Head of Department.
Minimum Academic Qualifications:
- Diploma in Food Production, Food and Beverage,
or any other related field from a recognized institution.
Experience:
- At least 2 years relevant work experience in a
busy environment.
Competencies
and Attributes:
- Strong analytical skills.
- Attention to details.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good understanding of MS Suite.
