Marketing & Storytelling Fellow Job in Kenya - Shukran

Role Summary

  • As a Marketing & Storytelling Fellow, you will join Shukran, one of Impact Africa Network’s (IAN) scale-ups, to help shape how the brand communicates and connects with its diverse audiences.
  • You will play an active role in content creation, product marketing, and brand storytelling — working closely with two other team members in the marketing department. Together, you’ll craft campaigns and narratives that drive engagement, promote Shukran’s Product and brand in the market.

Key Responsibilities


Brand & Product Marketing

  • Support in refining Shukran’s product messaging and positioning across different audience segments.
  • Help develop marketing materials that communicate the value proposition of Shukran’s products.
  • Work with the marketing team to design campaigns that promote new features, seasonal offers, or product updates.

Storytelling & Content Development

  • Create compelling content that brings Shukran’s story to life — including blog posts, articles, newsletters, case studies, and testimonials.
  • Highlight user success stories, brand partnerships, and community initiatives through creative storytelling.
  • Support the creation of thought-leadership content around digital gifting, loyalty, and fintech innovation.

Audience Engagement & Campaigns

  • Assist in designing and executing digital marketing campaigns targeting different audiences.
  • Support in developing messaging tailored for B2B and B2C (individual users) segments.
  • Contribute to campaign tracking, data collection, and reporting to assess engagement and performance.

Research & Market Insights

  • Conduct market research on competitors, customer behavior, and emerging trends in the space.
  • Provide insights that inform content strategy, product positioning, and campaign design.

Team Collaboration

  • Work collaboratively with two other members of the marketing team on campaign planning, content development, and brand strategy.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and marketing reviews to contribute creative ideas and feedback.
  • Support event planning, webinars, and community initiatives that amplify brand presence.

General Marketing Support

  • Manage content scheduling, social media posting, and performance tracking.
  • Assist in maintaining consistency across all brand touch points and communication channels.
  • Perform other marketing-related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Recent graduate or awaiting graduation in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field. A minimum high school grade of B+ (or equivalent) is required.
  • Writing Ability: Strong copywriting or creative writing skills; a passion for storytelling and clear communication.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to shared goals.
  • Attention to Detail: Accuracy and consistency in all marketing outputs.
  • Marketing Knowledge (preferred): Basic understanding of digital marketing, social media strategy, or content marketing.
