Key Responsibilities:
Community Mobilization & Project Implementation
Support
- Assist the Project Officer in mobilizing
community’s smallholder farmers (SHFs), Farmer Service Centres (FSCs), and
community groups for participation in livelihoods activities, including
climate-smart agriculture (CSA), value chain development, and market
access initiatives.
- Facilitate community-level trainings, field
days, and dialogues on topics like post-harvest management, financial
literacy, and nutrition-sensitive agriculture.
- Support the implementation of weekly work plans,
ensuring integration with other project components such as gender
mainstreaming and resilience building.
- Help coordinate with local partners and
stakeholders for joint activities, promoting inclusive access to inputs,
financial services, and markets.
- Mobilize and empower community groups, including
women, youth, and persons with disabilities (PWDs), to adopt sustainable
practices and business models
Monitoring, Reporting, and Documentation Support
- Assist in collecting and validating
community-level data on project indicators, such as SHF sales, market
linkages, and resilience outcomes, using WVK DM&E systems (e.g. Dream
save)
- Support regular field monitoring visits
and progress reviews with communities to ensure adherence to standards and
donor requirements.
- Support documenting of success stories,
innovations, and challenges from community activities, including photos
and basic reports.
- Track basic expenditure and resource utilization
at the field level in collaboration with the Project Officer.
- Contribute to monthly and quarterly reports by
providing field-level inputs for review by the Project Officer.
Advocacy, Engagement, Partnership and Networking
- Assist in engaging local stakeholders, including
ward-level government officials, private sector actors, and community
leaders, to build synergies for project sustainability.
- Support in mobilization for local forums,
agri-business fairs, and B2B meetings to promote CSA technologies and
market access.
- ·Support and advocate for community needs, such
as inclusive procurement policies and nutrition integration, under
guidance from the Project Officer.
Qualifications
- Minimum of Diploma in Community Development,
Agri Nutrition /Agricultural Economics/Agribusiness/Agricultural Extension
- At least 2 years of field experience in
community mobilization, livelihoods projects, or economic empowerment
initiatives, with exposure to climate-smart agriculture
- Basic understanding of market systems, extension
services, and community capacity building
- Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills for
working with diverse community groups
- Good communication skills, including basic
report writing. Proficient in local languages and basic computer skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
for community and partner engagement
- Knowledge on Gender and Social Inclusion with
additional training or skills in gender mainstreaming / integration is an
added advantage
- Knowledge of Agri Nutrition is an added
advantage
- open to local residents from Baringo South
preferably Mukutani.
