About the role:
- The Area Trade Developer is responsible for driving phone sales and
managing a network of commission-based agents within a defined territory.
This role includes recruiting, training, and assisting agents, expanding
market reach, and ensuring strong sales and repayment performance. Success
requires strong field execution, deep local market insight, and the
ability to translate strategy into tangible, on-the-ground results in a
fast-paced, competitive device financing landscape.
Responsibilities
Agent Acquisition & Development:
- Recruit, Train and Certify phone selling from
existing internal pool of solar selling agents and from external
- Maintain the required active base of phone
selling agents based on month-on-month goals
Sales & Productivity:
- Meet daily, weekly and monthly set unit phone
sales goals
- Maintain an average monthly agent sales
productivity
- Drive sales activations through agents in
markets through organized activities
Portfolio Collection Performance:
- Drive better phone repayments through thorough
agent training on collections and field assistance to improve repayment
performance
- Help track First Payment Default (FPD) and AT
Risk accounts and assist agents on resolution
- Align with Agents and ACEs on accounts
repossessions
Agent Engagement & assistance:
- Attending Table meeting to keep drive phone
sales awareness
- Daily active agents visit with defined route
plans
- Ensure agents have sufficient phone inventory
while enforcing inventory policy compliance
- Ensure agents are properly branded by guidelines
Qualifications
- Hold a degree or diploma in a business-related
field or have a minimum of four (4) years working in a sales field in the
FMCG, microfinance, banking or telecom industries.
- Passionate about positively impacting the lives
in local markets
- A strong team player with great interpersonal
skills to mentor your team to deliver on expectations.
- Deep knowledge of local markets (urban and
rural)
- Basic digital literacy (CRM, stock tools)
- Strong communication and problem-solving
abilities
- Willingness to travel extensively (5 days/week
in the field
- Comfortable working with MS Excel and
PowerPoint.
