Samburu Girls Foundation (SGF) is dedicated to improving the well-being of children, adolescent girls, and young women in Samburu County and its surrounding region of Kenya through education, health, and social support.

Job Summary

The Career Resource Officer will support SGF participants in transitioning from skilling programs into employment or entrepreneurship. The role includes managing the Career Resource Center, providing career counseling, delivering employability workshops, building partnershipsfor job and mentorship opportunities, and tracking participant outcomes to ensure successful and sustainable career pathways.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Support the development of a Career Resource Center, a hub aimed at providing program participants with holistic career readiness and development tools and resources.
  • Develop and implement a contextualized Career Transition Strategy in line with the strategic objectives of SGF.
  • Provide one-on-one career counseling to participants on employment pathways and
    entrepreneurship opportunities.
  • Work closely with trainers and the Business Development Officer to align skills training with labor market needs.
  • Source and facilitate internships, apprenticeships, and job placements for participants.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of career transitioning activities.
  • Regularly assess and report on participant progress and outcomes.
  • Propose and implement improvements to enhance the effectiveness of the program.
  • Prepare Weekly, monthly, quarterly progress reports.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Career Development, Business Administration, Social Sciences, Education, or a related field.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in career counselling, program management, or youth development.
  • Experience in developing career development tools (e.g., action plans, CV guides, job boards).
  • Proven track record of implementing career readiness programs or transition strategies.
  • Experience working in an NGO setup is an added advantage
