About The Role
The Technical Specialist SHE, leads shift-level
deployment of SC Johnson’s Safety, Health & Environmental and management
practices to ensure compliance with local legal requirements and SCJ global
standards. The role holder will be responsible for ensuring the safety and
well-being of all employees and visitors on-site during their shift. This role
involves implementing and enforcing safety protocols, conducting safety
inspections, and overseeing emergency response procedures.
Responsibilities
Leads environmental compliance assurance processes to
enable compliance with applicable laws, permit authorizations and company
standards.
Supports compliance with applicable regulatory and
company process – management standards to reduce risks associated with the
storage and use of high-hazard chemicals.
Executes internal audit processes, including annual
program evaluations, frequent workplace inspections to proactively identify
conditions and practices that can cause hazards or potential Environmental
non-conformances.
Partners with assigned stakeholders to drive timely,
effective closure of identified safety and environment – related corrective and
preventive actions.
Champions the investigation of environmental incidents and ensures that corrective and preventive actions that address root causes are effectively deployed across the site.
Reports and verifies the accuracy of data in the
company’s SHE database (e.g., Entropy) and analyzes the data to identify
trends.
Coordinates implementation of the Waste and
injury/illness Reduction Program(s) at the site. Works with other employees to
mitigate safety, health and environmental risks/impacts.
Partners with operations, human resources, and
medical teams to effectively manage return-to-work programs for work-related
injuries and illnesses.
Participate in and regularly review the Risk
assessment for the production related activities.
Manage the behavior observation safety (BOS) system
implementation at the shift-level.
Manage the corrective action & preventive action
closure on the gaps initiated from audits and GEMBAs.
Assist in the development and delivery of training
and awareness communication.
Monitor and enforce safety regulations, policies, and
procedures on the manufacturing floor.
Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to
identify potential hazards and risks.
Manage and maintain safety equipment and emergency
response supplies.
Coordinate with plant management and other
departments to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Lead and participate in safety committees and
meetings to address safety concerns and initiatives.
Serve as the point of contact for safety-related
concerns and inquiries.
Experience You Will Bring
Bachelor’s degree from an academic university in
Occupational Safety, Fire Protection, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental
Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
Thorough knowledge of the OSHA regulations and other
relevant safety and environmental standards.
Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) knowledge in a
chemical related workplace
Occupational hygiene knowledge.
Knowledge of Hazard Identification and Risk
Assessment (HIRA) or similar risk assessment tools.
3+ years of progressively increasing Safety, Health
and Environmental leadership responsibility in a manufacturing set-up.

Job Requirements
Shift work/including weekends. Maybe required to
Work in an office environment will be approximately
20% of time
Work in a manufacturing environment will be
approximately 80% of time
