Description
To provide and maintain caring and high professional
standards of nursing care utilizing the set standards, procedures and policies,
to meet patients’ needs and have job satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- To utilize the standards and procedures of nursing care
to continuously improve the quality of nursing care and exceed patients
expectations
- To be a role model in the nursing profession and exercise
professionalism at all times while treating patients with dignity, privacy
and respect.
- To learn to communicate effectively with other
professionals/patients and their significant others including staff of
other departments inorder to advocate for patients effectively.
- To utilize infection control measures in place, to provide a
safe and suitable environment for patients/staff and others.
- To uphold statutory regulations as required by the nursing
profession and the Laws of Kenya.
- To safeguard all confidential information concerning patients
and their treatment.
- To report all complaints and incidents to the shift-in-charge
as they occur in your line of duty.
- To learn to be knowledgeable of the equipment in use in the
ward/department and safeguard hospital/patient property and equipment from
damage, wastage or loss.
- To maintain and regularly update professional knowledge and
competence through education, self motivated learning and participate in
research in the ward.
- To learn to provide accurate documentation, proper record
keeping and storage for continuity, quality and legal reference.
- To utilize available resources effectively for quality service
delivery, profitability and cost containment.
- To learn and practice good interpersonal relationship amongst
the nursing team, patients and other disciplines.
- Any other duty as assigned by the supervisor in line with the
job description.
Qualifications
- KCSE C and above.
- Diploma in accredited School of Nursing: KRN/M, KRCHN/BScN
- At least 1-3 years
