The intern will be based in our KWS Seed department Nakuru office and reporting to the KWS Breeder. He/she will support the breeder in various breeding related operations.
Key responsibilities:
- Support in preparation, packing, planting, and
processing of nursery activities (including pollination and selfings)
- Data capture and report writing.
- Working together with the breeder on early generational
trials and making selection decisions.
- Support all breeding matters
Knowledge, skills and experience:
- At least a Bachelors (from a reputable university) or
master’s degree in agriculture, Biology, Horticulture or in a field
related to agriculture.
- Proven experience of plant breeding activities.
- Proficiency in the full Microsoft Office suite,
especially with Excel and Word.
- Team player.
- Ability to communicate professionally in English.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Willingness to travel (ca. 30 %)
