About the position
- The Tropical Forages Program is looking for an MSc student
intern to work in Nairobi, Kenya. The intern will support the Tropical
Forages team in applying the I-CLEANED methodology to assist with ongoing
livestock and environmental research work in Africa and Asia.
Key duties & responsibilities
The intern will support the following activities:
- Review crop and livestock management practices, and forage
agronomy from existing datasets to identify livestock breeds, feeding
practices, and crop/forage data in different production systems.
- Populate a database with crop, livestock and forage data
gathered from the literature reviews and household surveys
- Perform ex-ante environmental analyses and generate reports
using the gathered data
- Test I-CLEANED releases and suggest improvements
- Support other project-related activities as required from time
to time
Requirements
- MSc in Agriculture, Climate Change, Environmental Sciences or
a related field
- An interest in livestock, the environment, and tropical forages
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to uphold team ethics and work in a multicultural
environment
- Good command of English and Kiswahili
- Experience in statistical analysis software, especially R,
will be an added advantage
