Content Creator & Community Manager Job in Kenya

Reporting to: Head of Digital

Role Purpose

The main role of the Content Creator & Social Media Manager will be creating compelling content across various formats (written, visual, and multimedia) and managing brand’s social media presence to engage with the audience for assigned brands, increase brand visibility, and drive business growth

Key Accountabilities

Content Creation

Work closely with the strategy team to understand the company’s goals and target audience, and help develop content strategies that aligns with these objectives.

Conduct research on digital trends to generate and optimize content for brands managed by the agency

Develop engaging, informative, and creative content in various formats including social media reels, stories and interactive content. 

Be available 4hrs with a day to cover specific client events e.g. Weekend activations & Special Campaign Events to capture images and video to assist in the creation of content around those events or campaign for client platforms.


Based analysis, conceptualize, share content bank of new content ideas to increase brand engagement

Develop a content schedule/ plan of execution based content plans shared by the copy writer.

Collaborate with the production team to create visually appealing content that resonates with our target audience.

Proofread and edit content for accuracy, clarity, and consistency with brand voice and style guidelines.

Research industry trends and best practices to ensure that our content remains relevant and up- to-date.

Ensure all content is consistent in terms of style, quality, and tone of voice, and optimized for search and user experience.

Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas for new campaigns.

Develop content ideas for communication campaigns developed by the agency

Ensure that all content complies with copyright and privacy laws, and follows ethical guidelines and standards.

Community Management

Manage and maintain our company’s social media profiles across various platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and others.

Monitor and analyze social media performance metrics to inform content strategy and optimize engagement.

Respond to comments, questions, and direct messages in a timely and professional manner, fostering positive relationships with our audience.

Implement strategies to grow the community across various platforms.

Network with influencers in the community and leverage these relationships to help to create a strong brand.

Developing reports for the various brands- Track, analyze, and report on key community metrics to gauge community health and effectiveness of community initiatives.

Monitor and report on content performance and social media metrics, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.

Use these insights to inform future community strategies and initiatives.

Stay up-to-date with industry trends, tools, and best practices, and contribute to the ongoing growth and development of our content and social media strategies.

Key Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.

Proven experience as a Content Creator, Social Media Manager, or a similar role.

Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.

Strong understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, and best practices.

Experience with social media management tools, such as Agora Pulse, Hootsuite, Buffer, or Sprout Social.

Familiarity with content management systems (CMS)

Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, etc.) or other design/video editing tools.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills and a growth mindset.
