Livestock Attendant Job in Kenya

Duties & Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities of the officer will entail;

Feeding animals;

Taking animals’ temperature on daily basis and recording of the same;

Cleaning of animals pens and paddocks;

Preparing and presenting animals for germplasm collection;

Reporting any sick animal;

Dipping;

Preparing and presenting animals for vaccination and treatment as well as parading them when there are visitors;

Ensuring quarantine measures are adhered to; and

Assisting the Veterinary surgeons during postmortems.

Job Specification


For appointment to this position, one must have:

 KCSE D+ or its equivalent; and

Meets the provision of Chapter 6 of the constitution.

 Key Competencies and skills

Hardworking individual; and

Background in care of livestock.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to provide the following documents during the interview:

Curriculum vitae;

Identity card;

Original Academic certificates and other testimonials;

Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA) recognition/equation certificate for degrees, diplomas and certificates awarded by foreign universities and institutions.

 Successful candidates will be required to provide the following documents:

Certificate of good conduct;

EACC clearance;

HELB clearance;

KRA compliance certificate; and

Clearance from a reputable credit referencing bureau.
