Duties and
Responsibilities:
Specific duties
and responsibilities include:-
- Conducting feasibility studies and investigation on
agricultural engineering works; carrying out data analysis for design of
agricultural engineering works;
- Carrying out detailed design and preparation of bill of
quantities of agricultural engineering works;
- Carrying out specialized repair and maintenance of
agricultural engineering works; verifying and validating agricultural
engineering designs in accordance with set standards;
- Implementing agricultural engineering design works;
- Training stakeholders in agricultural engineering
technologies;
- Conducting trainings, on-farm trials and demonstrations; and
- Preparing technical reports.
Qualifications
For appointment to this
grade, an officer must have:-
- Served for a minimum period of three (3) years in the grade
of Senior Superintending Engineer (Agriculture), CSG 8 or in a comparable
and relevant positions in the wider public service;
- A Bachelors Degree in any of the following disciplines:
Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering or any
other relevant and equivalent qualification from a university recognized
in Kenya;
- Demonstrated capability and efficiency in undertaking the
agricultural engineering function; and
- Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and
results.
