Role
Purpose: Working
with members of the global IT team, the role holder will be responsible for
building, implementing and supporting Business Intelligence (BI) solutions
within the organisation.
This
role will partner with business stakeholders in order to understand their
analytic requirements, and implement and maintain BI solutions to meet these
needs, utilising best practices. The role requires experience in adapting
existing solutions as well as creating new solutions.
Scope of Role:
Reports to: TBA – Dual reporting line: Local and the BI Architect based in London
Staff reporting to this post: No direct reports
Role Dimensions: Over 60 countries with a staff complement in excess of 17,000 of which at least 50% are considered users of IT systems.

- Provide
the organisation with accurate and timely BI solutions based on
requirements gathered through business partnering activities
- Maintain
and support existing BI solutions
- Proactively
source new and innovative solutions that provide clear business value and
construct ‘proof of concepts’ to demonstrate the new solutions
- Proactively
identify any technical project risks/issues related to BI
- Estimate
and deliver BI project tasks to agreed prioritisation and timeframes
- Support
the IT Service Delivery team with the BI reporting environment
- Assist
management in designing, agreeing, implementing and managing changes to
the BI environment
- Maintain
accurate technical documentation

Qualifications
- computing
degree - BSc, BA or equivalent experience
Experience
and Skills
Essential
- Experience
of working with SQL Server databases, including creating & modifying
T-SQL scripts, stored procedures, functions, triggers, writing ad-hoc
queries and dynamic SQL
- Experience
of working closely with non-technical staff, demonstrating an ability to
translate and negotiate non-technical requirements into a detailed
technical specification
- Good
interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with a proven
ability to explain complex technical ideas and problems clearly to
non-experts
- Self-motivated,
enthusiastic, and strong problem solving skills
- Cultural
awareness and experience of delivering solutions internationally
- Keen
to learn new technologies, especially in BI
Desirable:
- Experience
of working with Microsoft’s BI technology stack SSIS, SSRS and/or SSAS
(tabular and multidimensional models)
- Experience
working with BI presentation tools (e.g. Excel, Power Pivot, Power View
and Power BI)

working with BI reporting in SharePoint

- Manage
diary and all travel booking arrangements for the CIO.
- Prepare
expense claims for the CIO.
- Help
to organise and record minutes of IT leadership meetings ( via Skype) as
and when required and follow up on timely completion of action points.
- Handle
a significant level of external contacts on behalf of the CIO
- Provide
internal communication support across the global IT team, including
helping to organise a quarterly Skype call and maintaining some of the IT
pages in OneNet (internal intranet).
- Provide
a focal point for Accounts Payable escalations and queries regarding IT
invoice processing, on behalf of IT leaders.
- Develop
strong, positive relationships with all relevant stakeholders on behalf of
IT
Other
- Provide
occasional administrative support to other global IT leaders in areas of
travel and events management
- Carry
out any other duties either in addition to or instead of those outlined
above which may reasonably be required from time to time, in order to
assist the CIO in meeting his responsibilities and working most
effectively.

in a similar role, preferably within an international team.
- Experience
of dealing with complex diary and international travel arrangements
- Experience
of planning and organising meetings and events, with a strong attention to

in use of Skype & Office 365.
