Job summary
We are currently seeking an
Description of main duties:
- Lead facilitator in international and customized value chain and enterprise trainings.
- Provide technical assistance to program beneficiaries in one or more of the following fields: value chain development, supply chain management, private sector development, BDS, marketing, trade facilitation, export promotion, public outreach, investment promotion and extension services.
- Provide technical assistance to product development via viable market orientation taking into account the marketing issues related to the transition to high-value products.
- Provide technical backstopping to national and local project partners and service providers contracted to provide technical assistance project beneficiaries.
- Maintain strong relationships with National level stakeholders: state departments, non state actors, Universities and Research Institutes, private sector, , IIRR partners and collaborators, and any other associated stakeholder
- Development and adaptation of training material in value chain and enterprise development.
- Technical lead expert in producing value chain publications
- To develop the IIRR’s Value chain development program portfolio.
Person Specifications
- Masters degree or higher in Agriculture Economics, enterprise development, marketing agribusiness, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 8-10 years of progressive experience in managing large and complex agricultural value chain programs
- Proven expertise in value chain market development for related sectors
- Regional experience in planning and managing programs for local government and agricultural organizations; experience assessing needs and gaps, determining appropriate interventions, and monitoring and evaluation effectiveness
- Experience managing a team in multiple locations and ensuring consistent programming
- Having experience in business plan development and proposal writing
- Good in training and facilitation skills
