National Anti-Corruption Campaign Steering Committee

The National Anti-corruption Campaign Steering Committee (NACCSC) was established by His Excellency the President on 14th August, 2009 vide Gazette Notice - NO. 8738 of 14th August, 2009.

The functions of NACCSC are; to undertake nationwide public education, sensitization and awareness creation campaigns aimed at


effecting fundamental changes in the attitudes, behaviour, practice and culture of Kenyans towards corruption.

Job Description

The Director shall be the Chief Executive and Head of Secretariat

Overall responsibility for management of the National Anti-Corruption Campaign Steering Committee Programmes and Resources.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Secretary to the Steering Committee
  • Provide leadership in the implementation of the National Anti-Corruption Campaign Steering Committee
  • Management and coordination of the Steering Committee
  • Liaise with other Anti-Corruption bodies in implanting the nationwide strategy
  • Undertake research and liaise with other institutions to gather information relevant to the Anti- Corruption Campaign
  • Preparation of the quarterly reports and any other reports to the Patron
  • Preparation of briefs and reports to the Steering Committee and dissemination of information relevant to the Steering Committee
  • Ensure compliance with development partners guidelines and requirements on Anti-Corruption
  • Ensure responsible media coverage
  • Prepare budgets and ensure efficient and effective management of resources
  • Providing monthly financial summaries to the Steering Committee
  • Overall in-charge of all Human Resource
  • Implement policies on monitoring and evaluation
  • Negotiate for contracts in consultation with the Steering Committee and the Accounting Officer
  • Liaise with the Permanent Secretary responsible on the implementation of all Government Policies and Programmes.
Job Specifications

For appointment to the post of the director, the candidate must have:

  • A Masters Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline (preferably Economics, Political Science, Sociology, Humanities or Law)
  • At least 10 years work experience in a relevant field
  • Conversant with Government of Kenya and Development partners policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated commitment to promotion of Anti-Corruption reforms
  • Demonstrated knowledge of national and regional politics, economic and social issues and trends relating to corruption
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Conversant with interactive sectors and actors in the Anti-Corruption and prevention activities
  • Computer literate.
Reporting
  • Reports to the Steering Committee
  • Accountable to the Appointing Authority through the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry responsible.
