Job Summary

An Assistant Accountant supports the accounting department by maintaining financial records, processing transactions, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.


This role assists senior accountants with daily financial operations and contributes to the accuracy of financial data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing financial statements and reports.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Reconcile bank statements and company accounts.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Prepare and post journal entries.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
  • Process invoices, expense claims, and payments.
  • Monitor cash flow and maintain petty cash records.
  • Support budget preparation and financial forecasting.
  • Assist with audits by preparing required documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintain accounting software and financial databases.
  • Perform general administrative duties related to finance and accounting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, finance or a related field, CPA part II
  • Previous experience in an accounting or finance role is preferred.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
