NCK is hiring a Corporate Communication Officer skilled in public relations, media relations, internal communication, and digital media management.
Description
Responsibilities
- Implementing communication and visibility strategies in line with
the Council’s communication policy;
- Developing and disseminating communication materials including
newsletters, brochures, fact sheets, press releases, reports and
promotional materials;
- Supporting management of the Council website and social media
platforms;
- Creating, editing and publishing digital content across
communication channels;
- Monitoring media coverage and preparing media monitoring reports;
- Collecting, organizing and maintaining communication records,
photographs, videos and publications;
- Assisting in preparation of speeches, presentations, briefs and
talking points;
- Supporting stakeholder engagement, public awareness and advocacy
programmes;
- Coordinating media coverage and publicity for Council activities and
events;
- Supporting development of communication campaigns and public
education initiatives;
- Producing multimedia content including photographs, videos and
digital stories;
- Assisting in organizing conferences, workshops, seminars and
stakeholder forums;
- Responding to routine internal and external communication requests;
- Supporting branding and visibility activities to promote the
Council’s mandate and services;
- Monitoring emerging communication issues and providing appropriate
recommendations;
- Maintaining effective working relationships with media houses,
government agencies, development partners and other stakeholders;
- Preparing communication reports and performance updates; and
- Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Education
- Diploma in Journalism, Mass Communication, Public Relations,
Corporate Communication, Strategic Communication or a related field from a
recognized institution;
More Details on Experience
- Membership to a relevant professional body such as the Media Council
of Kenya, Public Relations Society of Kenya (PRSK), or an equivalent
professional association;
- Proficiency in computer applications;
- Demonstrated competence in communication, media engagement and
content development;
- Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and
results;
- Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of
Kenya.
