Community
Strategy and Market Activation
- Lead the design and execution of the Kenya community strategy,
ensuring strong alignment with market growth priorities and business
objectives.
- Build and operationalise a community model that strengthens learner
and alumni engagement while driving measurable outcomes.
- Develop market-relevant activation strategies that increase
participation, visibility, belonging, and advocacy across the ALX
community in Kenya.
- Establish clear systems, operating rhythms, and success measures
that position community as a strategic growth function.
- Continuously refine community programming and structures to improve
relevance, consistency, and impact.
Ambassador
Programme Design and Activation
- Lead the recruitment, activation, and ongoing management of
community ambassadors in Kenya.
- Design an ambassador model that enables consistent monthly activity,
strong accountability, and meaningful contribution to community growth and
learner recruitment.
- Develop engagement structures, communication rhythms, toolkits, and
incentives that empower ambassadors to lead relevant and high-quality
community activities.
- Track ambassador activity and effectiveness to ensure the programme
supports engagement, referrals, visibility, and growth objectives.
- Strengthen the quality and consistency of ambassador-led programming
over time.
Community
Engagement, Participation, and Retention
- Drive strategies that increase monthly active engagement across
learners, alumni, and broader community members in Kenya.
- Design and oversee community programmes, experiences, and events
that foster belonging, accountability, and continued participation.
- Work closely with internal teams to strengthen learner and alumni
connection to ALX throughout the lifecycle, from onboarding to
post-programme engagement.
- Monitor participation trends, engagement risks, and drop-off points,
and implement interventions that improve retention and continuity.
- Create strong operating mechanisms for in-person and virtual
community touchpoints that can scale effectively.
Community-Led
Recruitment and Growth Contribution
- Partner closely with Marketing, Recruitment, and city teams to
ensure community contributes meaningfully to learner acquisition and
enrollment goals in Kenya.
- Develop and execute strategies that increase the percentage of new
enrollments secured through community-led recruitment channels.
- Support the creation of referral systems, ambassador-led outreach
efforts, local engagement campaigns, and events that drive qualified
prospect interest.
- Ensure community programming and messaging are aligned with campaign
priorities, target audience needs, and market goals.
- Track and report on the community’s contribution to lead generation,
conversion, and enrollment performance.
Impact
Storytelling and Brand Advocacy
- Build systems to identify, capture, and elevate powerful stories of
learner, alumni, and community impact in Kenya.
- Work with internal stakeholders to ensure impact stories are
consistently documented, surfaced, and shared in ways that strengthen
brand credibility and community pride.
- Support the development of a strong story pipeline that provides
regular, high-quality proof points for marketing, partnerships, and brand
communications.
- Encourage community members and ambassadors to contribute to
storytelling efforts that showcase ALX’s value and local impact.
- Ensure storytelling efforts are intentional, measurable, and aligned
with business and brand priorities.
Cross-Functional
Collaboration and Community Operations
- Work closely with Learning teams to align community efforts with
learner experience, participation, and retention priorities.
- Partner with Marketing and Recruitment teams to ensure community
campaigns support business growth and enrollment objectives.
- Collaborate with leadership and relevant stakeholders to ensure
community priorities remain visible, integrated, and outcome-oriented.
- Build strong internal coordination mechanisms that ensure the
community is not operating in isolation, but as part of a broader market
growth strategy.
- Contribute to a culture of accountability, experimentation, and
continuous improvement within the Kenya team.
Monitoring,
Reporting, and Continuous Improvement
- Track and analyse performance across key community metrics,
including ambassador activation, monthly active engagement, community-led
recruitment, and impact storytelling.
- Build strong reporting rhythms that provide visibility into
community health, activity levels, and contribution to Kenya market goals.
- Use data, field insights, and participant feedback to continuously
refine community strategy, activation models, and operating processes.
- Translate community performance insights into clear recommendations
and action plans.
- Drive ongoing improvements that make the community more effective,
scalable, and measurable over time.
Skill Requirements –
Essential
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in community
management, programme management, youth engagement, ecosystem building,
marketing activation, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience building or managing communities that drive
measurable outcomes such as engagement, recruitment, retention, advocacy,
or growth.
- Proven ability to lead multi-market or multi-stakeholder initiatives
with strong operational discipline and execution quality.
- Strong experience designing and running engagement programmes,
ambassador initiatives, events, or community activation campaigns.
- Ability to translate strategy into practical systems, operating
rhythms, and measurable results.
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration
skills, with the ability to work effectively across Learning, Marketing,
Recruitment, and business leadership teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong
facilitation and community-facing presence.
- Strong analytical mindset, with the ability to track performance,
interpret trends, and use insights to improve programming and results.
