Job Specifications
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: –
- Preparing payment vouchers;
- Processing payments, imprests and travel
advances;
- Receiving cash, banking, balancing and
reconciling cash books on daily basis
- Posting payments and receipts in the
cashbook;
- Disbursing funds in accordance with the
provision on the PFM Act;
- Providing safe custody of cash and
payment vouchers;
- Preparing and updating creditor, debtors
and general ledgers;
- Liaising with customers to provide
billing information;
- Preparing monthly bank accounts
reconciliations;
- Processing of statutory deductions
payments; and
- Preparing and maintaining accurate
prepayments, accruals and provision schedules.
Person Specifications
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: –
- Four (4) years work experience
- Diploma in Accounting or a related field
from a recognized institution; professional accounting certification;
- Part II of the Certified Public
Accountants (CPA) examination or equivalent qualification from a
recognized institution;
- Proficiency in computer applications; and
- Met the requirements of Chapter six of
the Constitution.

- Clearance from the Ethics and
Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
- Clearance from the Higher Education Loans
Board (HELB).
- Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) clearance
report.
- Valid Certificate of Good Conduct from
the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
