Qualifications
- A personal commitment to Jesus Christ as Savior
and Lord.
- Exhibit a continuing sense of God’s calling to
service at Rosslyn Academy.
- Demonstrate a respect for diversity of culture,
religion, and different Christian traditions.
- Demonstrate an appreciation for the diversity of
the body of Christ.
- Possess a minimum of a Master’s degree in
education from an accredited tertiary body.
- Hold a valid teaching and subsequent
administrative certificate from an authorized governmental agency in North
America and/or the Association of Christian Schools International.
- Show evidence of recent professional growth.
- Give evidence of previous successful teaching
and administrative experience in a North American setting.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of child
development, curriculum development and program evaluation, effective
instructional strategies, learning assessment and diagnosis, and research
related to learning.
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate
effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
- Demonstrate the ability to use technology for
word processing, data management and telecommunications.
- Demonstrate a life congruent with the Basic
Tenets of Rosslyn Academy.
- Previous international travel and senior
administrative experience is preferred.

Curriculum
- Ensure that the curriculum fully supports the
mission and purpose statements of the school.
- Cooperatively work with the Director of Teaching
and Learning and school principals to establish the curriculum development
and review process.
- Annually assign leadership to conduct the
curriculum review and development process, per the curriculum review
schedule.
- Keep the Board of Governors informed of
significant curricular revisions.
Supervision
- Ensure that the organizational system with its
clearly defined lines of authority and responsibility is consistently
upheld throughout the school.
- Ensure that positive personnel practices are
used consistently.
- Evaluate the personnel who are under his/her
direct supervision according to the organizational flowchart and
evaluation policies.
Administrative
Duties
- Ensure that Board and Administrative
policies/directives are administered fairly and consistently throughout
the school.
- Prepare and present a Superintendent’s report
for each Board of Governors meeting.
- Evaluate the school’s progress toward its
vision, mission, strategic plans, and annual goals and communicate this
progress to the Board of Governors.
- Develop, with the appropriate administrators,
recommendations for new Board level policies, personnel recommendations
and contracts, annual budgets, and development plans in order to
subsequently recommend to the Board of Governors.
- Ensure compliance of all school policies and
practices with established Board policies, accreditation standards, and
Kenyan legal guidelines.
- Provide leadership for continued school growth
and accreditation.
- Ensure that viable administrative policies,
procedures, and position profiles are maintained and revised.
- Provide for an effective recruitment of, and
orientation for, new personnel.
- Ensure the school is staffed with adequate
faculty and staff.
- Cooperatively work with administration to
develop, maintain and operate a program of in-service training and
education for all educational staff.
- Collaborate with the Director of Communications
and Admissions to maintain a master calendar, communicating to all
necessary constituents the master schedule and special events.
- Oversee and support the Director of
Communications and Admissions in promoting the school through strategic
marketing, public-relations, and admissions initiatives.
- Provide oversight for the annual budgeting
process.
- Responds to abuse, harassment, significant
health, and suicide issues as per policy.
