Data Product Manager Job in Kenya - 4G Capital

This is an exciting opportunity for a data expert who has evolved into product management and thrives at the intersection of business, product, and technology. You’ll bring a “data-as-a-product” mindset to everything you do, ensuring our data is reliable, accessible, and actionable. You’ll define the vision and roadmap for our Data team, shaping how 4G Capital uses data to power lending decisions, ensure compliance, and measure business performance. You’ll collaborate closely with the Head of Data, data engineers, analysts, product managers, and senior stakeholders to ensure our systems are scalable, transparent, and future-ready.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and own the Data Product Roadmap, aligning initiatives with business priorities.
  • Ensure the quality, availability, and reliability of data systems, dashboards, and reporting.
  • Drive adoption of best practices in development, governance, and documentation.
  • Partner with our Head of Data, engineers, analysts, and business leaders to make data a trusted enabler across the company.
  • Guide stakeholders through data strategies and trade-offs, ensuring transparency and alignment.
  • Mentor and support junior talent, helping to grow future data leaders.

What we’re looking for

We want someone who is first and foremost a data expert, but with the strategic lens and leadership of a product manager. Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • 5+ years in data engineering or data-heavy roles, with at least 2 years in product management.
  • Experience working with high-volume, transactional data.
  • Strong grasp of data modelling, flows, and trade-offs across collection, transformation, storage, and consumption.
  • Hands-on ability to query data (SQL) to validate assumptions and communicate insights.
  • A collaborative, transparent, and influential style—you can build trust across technical and business teams.
  • Familiarity with ETL/ELT, warehouse technologies, and data reliability concepts.

What We Offer

  • The chance to make a tangible impact on financial inclusion across Africa.
  • A purpose-driven role where your work supports thousands of small business owners.
  • A collaborative, supportive culture that values both innovation and human connection.
  • Growth opportunities within a fast-scaling fintech recognised globally for impact and excellence.
  • Flexible working with global collaboration (Kenya preferred; remote possible in UK/Europe).
