Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate
with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure adherence to EHS
regulations and standards.
Conduct
EHS assessments of construction sites and implement appropriate measures to
mitigate risks.
Analyze
project specifications and contracts to identify potential cost-saving
opportunities
and risks and monitor project progress and expenditures, providing timely
updates to stakeholders.
Cost
Control and Budget Preparation and Management
Procurement
Management and Value Engineering:
Tendering
and Contract Administration: Prepare tender documents, including bills of
quantities, specifications, and contract terms. Manage the tender process,
evaluate bids from contractors and suppliers, and make recommendations for
contract awards. Administer contracts and manage variations/change orders
throughout the project.
Quality
Assurance: Ensure that materials and workmanship meet the required standards
and specifications. Conduct inspections and quality audits to verify compliance
with project requirements and regulatory standards.
Collaboration
and Coordination: Work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and
other project stakeholders to integrate cost management considerations into the
design and construction process. Foster effective collaboration and
communication to achieve project objectives.
Documentation
and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of project
costs, contracts, procurement activities, and correspondence. Negotiate with
suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to secure favorable terms and
agreements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s
degree in quantity surveying or related field.
Minimum
of 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction/consultancy.
Registration
with BORAQS, demonstrating professional competence and adherence to ethical
standards.
Certification
or training in EHS management (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) preferred.
Strong
analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent
communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
