Operational
Responsibilities:
- Monitor ICT service desk delivery issues to ensure quick
resolution of user related incidents enhancing customer service delivery.
- Undertake the day to day management of the information
technology platforms to facilitate the efficient delivery of customer
service and processing all transactions
- Maintain and update the organizational ICT systems across the
Commission to retain current information.
- Monitor the Wide Area Network and the Local Area Network and
ensure optimum output performance within the Commission to enable smooth
internet and network connectivity.
- Ensure the smooth running of all ICT systems including web
applications, email system, firewall and spam filter.
- Support roll out of new applications and hardware as well as
maintenance of inventory for the organization’s IT hardware and software
both at the main offices and in regional offices
- Participate in timely preparation of the ICT department
budgets, work plans and reports
- Undertake frequent data back-up for the Commission critical
data and facilitate offsite storage of backup media.
- Provide user support on ICT hardware and network
infrastructure and carry out preventative maintenance of ICT equipment
through regular updates of operating systems.
- Install and configure security applications within the
Commission.
- Setup and configure virtual private networks for out of
office connectivity.
- Developing system specification; writing and testing computer
programmes according to instructions and specifications.
Skills, Experience and
Minimum Qualifications
- 3 years of service in a comparable position from a reputable
organization
- Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields: Computer
Science, Information Communication Technology, or equivalent qualification
from a recognized institution; and
- Professional Certification in Cisco Certified Network
Associate (CCNA)
- Good knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure
Library (ITIL)
- Good knowledge of Active Directory Services and management.
- Good knowledge of software development tools and maintenance
practices.
- Good knowledge of relational database management
- Excellent organizational and problem solving skills
- Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of
Kenya
