Assistant Director Reception Services Job in Kenya - PSCK

Qualifications

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

  • cumulative service period of ten (10) years three (3) years of which must have been in the grade of Principal Reception Officer, CSG 8 or in a comparable and relevant position in the public service; 
  • (a Bachelors Degree in any of the following disciplines: Public Relations, Public Relations and Customer Care, International Relations and Diplomacy, Hospitality Management, Sociology, Governance, Public Administration, Anthropology, Political Science, Business Administration or equivalent qualification from a    university recognized in Kenya; and

  • demonstrated professional competence and administrative capability in the provision of Reception Services.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • editing Information for official, presidential and state programmes;
  • interpreting and organizing State programmes;
  • preparing government guest list;
  • updating the National Order of Precedence;
  • supervising activities of service providers during official, Presidential and State functions;
  • liaising with State/Departments, Agencies and private institutions on flag protocol;
  • editing commemorative plaques for officials, presidential and state functions;
  • coordinating and supervising reception services in State/ Departments;
  • liaising with Forestry in identifying appropriate species of tree seedling, digging of appropriate holes, providing tree planting and hand-washing tools during ceremonial tree planting occasions;
  • advising on the packaging of conference materials; and
  • undertaking editing of commemorative plaques to be used during presidential functions.
