Management Accountant Job in Kenya (50K)

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations
  • Consolidate financial reports from depots and factory operations

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Lead the annual budgeting process across all business units
  • Monitor and analyze budget performance against actual results
  • Provide financial forecasts and actionable recommendations

Cash Flow Management

  • Monitor and manage company cash flow and liquidity

  • Oversee working capital planning and optimization
  • Ensure timely payments to suppliers and collections from customers

Cost Control & Profitability Analysis

  • Analyze production and operational costs across the business
  • Monitor product margins (e.g., milk, yogurt, and related products)
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives

 Internal Controls & Risk Management

  • Develop, implement, and enforce financial controls across depots and factory operations
  • Safeguard company assets by preventing fraud, errors, and financial losses
  • Conduct periodic internal audits and compliance checks

Tax & Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with Kenyan tax regulations, including VAT, PAYE, and corporate tax
  • Liaise with tax authorities and external auditors
  • Oversee timely filing and payment of all statutory obligations

Team Leadership & Development

  • Supervise depot accountants and accounts assistants
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance management
  • Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Oversee and optimize the use of accounting systems (e.g., Acnker ERP or similar platforms)
  • Improve financial processes to enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy

Strategic Financial Support

  • Provide financial insights to support strategic decisions, including:
  • Pricing strategies
  • Expansion plans
  • Cost optimization initiatives
  • Partner with management to drive business growth and profitability

Audit Coordination

  • Prepare for internal and external audits
  • Ensure proper documentation, compliance, and timely resolution of audit findings

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA (K) – Fully qualified and in good standing with ICPAK
  • 5–8 years of relevant experience in management accounting or finance
  • At least 2–3 years in a supervisory or leadership role
  • Experience in FMCG, manufacturing, or dairy industry is an added advantage
  • Proven track record in financial reporting and budgeting
  • Strong financial analysis and reporting capabilities
  • Leadership and team management skills
  • High level of integrity and accountability
