Reports To: Officer-in-Charge / Children’s Home Administrator
Contract Duration: One (1) Year
Key Responsibilities
- Direct Care: Provide psychosocial support and
case management services to children.
- Safeguarding: Ensure implementation of child
protection and safeguarding policies.
- Case Management: Conduct assessments, prepare
care plans, and maintain accurate case records.
- Collaboration: Liaise with government agencies,
schools, health facilities, and other stakeholders.
- Family Support: Support family tracing,
reintegration, and follow-up where applicable.
- Reporting: Prepare timely reports for management
and relevant authorities.
- Wellbeing: Promote the spiritual, emotional, and
social wellbeing of children.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in
Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Community Development, or a related
field.
- Experience: At least 2–3 years’ experience
working with children in a children’s home or similar setting.
- Legal Knowledge: Good knowledge of the Children
Act and child protection frameworks in Kenya.
- Mandatory Documents: Valid Certificate of Good
Conduct.
- Personal Values: Must be a committed Christian
whose values align with The Salvation Army’s mission.
- Technical Skills: Computer literacy (MS Word,
Excel, email).
