Job Overview

Location: Mombasa
Reports To: Officer-in-Charge / Children’s Home Administrator
Contract Duration: One (1) Year

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct Care: Provide psychosocial support and case management services to children.
  • Safeguarding: Ensure implementation of child protection and safeguarding policies.
  • Case Management: Conduct assessments, prepare care plans, and maintain accurate case records.
  • Collaboration: Liaise with government agencies, schools, health facilities, and other stakeholders.
  • Family Support: Support family tracing, reintegration, and follow-up where applicable.
  • Reporting: Prepare timely reports for management and relevant authorities.
  • Wellbeing: Promote the spiritual, emotional, and social wellbeing of children.

Qualifications and Requirements


  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Community Development, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 2–3 years’ experience working with children in a children’s home or similar setting.
  • Legal Knowledge: Good knowledge of the Children Act and child protection frameworks in Kenya.
  • Mandatory Documents: Valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
  • Personal Values: Must be a committed Christian whose values align with The Salvation Army’s mission.
  • Technical Skills: Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, email).
